At the New York Fashion Week for Spring 2008, the models were all wearing what can best be described as 'lip gloss for nails'

Tints and sheer colors are hot for this spring, so don't get left with the winter colors and finishes.

• Remove dark winter, nail colors
  

• A French manicure is set to become two strong contrasting colors, rather than the traditional pale pink with white tips.
  

• If you have short nails, use a matte finish, over a skin-tone polish.
  

• Layered red polishes. A dark red coated with a sheer red. This creates a patent-leather look
  

• Don't match fingers and toes, The spring trend is for bright colors on the toes and translucent looks for the fingers.
